What are Physical Properties of Technetium?

Technetium is a metal having silvery grey color. This element has physical property of tarnishing in moist air. This element is similar to element called as Rhenium. Rhenium is also a silvery white element having high weight. In 1987 the scientist was discovered the technetium is a first superconductor at 11 Kelvin and above.

Applications

  • Industrial

  • Medicine

Technetium is the first radioactive element which is used in radioactive tracer. also Technetium 99 is used in Optoelectronic nuclear batteries.

This is used for imaging and functional study of myocardium, thyroid, brain, liver, lungs, gallbladder, skeleton, blood, kidneys and tumors.
